FAQ
What is matcha, and how is it different from regular green tea?
Matcha is a finely ground powder made from specially grown and shade-cultivated green tea leaves. Unlike regular green tea, where leaves are steeped and discarded, matcha is consumed whole — delivering more nutrients, antioxidants, and a richer flavor.
How do I prepare matcha at home?
Simply whisk 1–2 grams (½–1 tsp) of matcha powder with hot water (around 175°F/80°C) using a bamboo whisk until frothy. You can also blend it into lattes, smoothies, or even desserts. Check out our Matcha Recipe Guide for ideas!
Is your matcha organic and sourced from Japan?
Yes. We source 100% organic, shade-grown matcha directly from small farms in Uji and Nishio, Japan — regions renowned for producing the highest quality ceremonial-grade matcha.
What’s the difference between ceremonial and culinary matcha?
Ceremonial matcha is the highest grade, perfect for traditional tea preparation with just water. Culinary matcha is slightly more robust and ideal for recipes like lattes, baked goods, and smoothies.
Does matcha contain caffeine?
Yes — but it’s different from coffee. Matcha contains about 30–70 mg of caffeine per serving, balanced by L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes calm focus and sustained energy without the crash.
